The Arctic Chalet can offer you a variety of accommodations to suit your needs. We are conveniently located just 3 kilometres from the center of town on the edge of a tranquil lake surrounded by forests and indigenous flowers & plants. In this beautiful natural setting you can experience the real feel of the north. Here you are also away from city lights that can interfere with viewing the spectacular northern lights - the Aurora Borealis. And best of all here you can hear the occasional howling of our White Huskies that want to meet you and welcome you to the Arctic.

Our two-story log home offers two nice guest rooms with a shared kitchenette and bath on the upper level. Our Lakeview Room has a queen bed and a single bed and has a private covered balcony with a great view over the property and the lake. The Family Room has a queen bed and two single beds and a small covered balcony. The entire upstairs is for guests only while our own living quarters are on the main floor and are totally separate for your privacy and ours. Come and go as you wish anytime of the day or night.
Our historic log cabins which have been renovated to modern standards are each divided into two or three separate non-smoking units (similar to a motel unit) All have individual entrances, satellite TV, wireless internet, kitchenettes and private bath. Beds are decked with down duvets and other quilts. Single and double occupancy rooms have either one double or a queen bed. Twin rooms have a double and a single bed. Actually all of our "rooms" have two beds except for one.
Kitchenettes have dishes, cookware and some basic breakfast foods for a self-catered breakfast. Coffee, herbal teas, hot chocolate and juice are provided along with instant and dry cereal and fruit cups. Additional foods may be available in the cupboards. Please help yourself!
The Arctic Chalet is located within walking distance of Inuvik - 1.5 kilometers. We offer free town shuttles from 9 am to 6 pm every day except Saturday and taxi service is readily available. Our Airport shuttles are $25 each or $10 per person and cost less than paying for a taxi cab.
Traveling with a pet? We have rooms designated as “pet-friendly”. And for those who do not want a pet-friendly room we have cabin units where we never allow pets.
Adventure Tours are also available to all tourists right here at the Arctic Chalet office. We offer a wide variety of day trips and overnight packages so have a look at our tour pages and let us know if you would like to book a tour.
Our 3 premium log cabins have private bath and are not divided into units. They are more private and spacious and have full kitchen facilities that include a stove with oven and a large fridge.
The Twilight and Sunrise cabins each have a queen bed and a single bed in one large room, and nice outdoor porches with barbecues.
The Eagle's Nest cabin is a beautiful log cabin with a queen bed in the main room with the the kitchen/dining area. In the back bedroom we have bunk beds and a cot. But odely enough there is no room for a door so this is not technically a one-bedroom cabin. You walk through this room to get to the bathroom. The cabin is designed for a family of 4-5 people. No TV in this cabin but as in all cabins we have wireless internet.
Price Range: $190 - $235.
Remote Arctic Loon Cabin
This remote cabin is a destination for dog sledding, snowmobiling or snowshoeing tours, either as a day cabin or for overnight lodging with guides, but is not available as a rental on its own. The cabin is large enough to accommodate 6-8 people in 3 bedrooms and a loft. Although this cabin is totally off the grid it is comfortable and cozy. The kitchen has propane appliances and lamps. We also use candles and portable battery-powered lanterns for lighting. There is an inside toilet and an outdoor hot tub and the cabin is heated primarily with two wood stoves and a backup oil heater.
Breakfast Foods & Dining
Basic Breakfast foods such as cereal and milk (Almond milk available upon request), rye crisp, fruit cups, hot chocolate, herbal tea, coffee and juice are complementary in all cabin kitchens or kitchenettes. We also supply dishes, silverware and cookware so that you can do some light cooking for other meals and save some money instead of eating out for every meal.
We do not have a dining room on the property but there are restaurants and cafe's downtown as well as two grocery stores and several convenience stores. We will show you where the best places are for eating out! Food catering Services are also available.
Our log cabin units do not share any common areas. Each cabin structure has either two or three separate units under one roof. They all have private bath, kitchenettes with microwave, small fridge and a hot plate. Some have telephone. Most units have a double or queen bed plus a single bed. One unit has a queen bed only.
